Phensedyl cough syrup worth Rs 18 lakh seized

Dibrugarh, July 4: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested one person and seized more than Rs 18 lakh worth Phensedyl cough syrup cartons from Banipur police Station on Monday during routine checking of the compartment of Abodh Assam Express.

The arrested person later was identified as Moinul Haque. The sources later stated that 40 cartons Phensedyl cough syrup, which is usually used by drug abusers as drugs, were to be unloaded at Rangiya junction but due to intensive police checking, Haque brought the entire load to Dibrugarh.
