Photography and essay competition on World Environment Day

KALIABOR, May 27: A State-level photography and essay competition will be organized by Kaliabor College under the aegis of the Government of Assam as part of the World Environment Day celebrations on June 5. The competition is part of the central celebration of World Environment Day of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Assam. The theme of both photography and essay competition is ‘Connecting People with ture’. Willing undergraduate students of the colleges of Assam may send their entries which must be duly authenticated by the head of the institute.  Prize money of Rs. 5,000 for first and Rs. 3,000 for second prizes, and certificates will be presented to the winners in the competitions.This year, Assam ScienceTechnology and Environment Council (ASTEC) in association with Kaliabor College will observe the World Environment Day at Kaliabor with a day-long programme. State Minister of Science and Information Technology, Keshab Mahanta will be present in the main meeting. Intertiolly acclaimed scientist and newly appointed scientific adviser to the science and technology department, Government of Assam, Dr. Jitendra th Goswami will be a guest in the meeting. Noted environmental activist Jayanta Kumar Sarmah will be a resource person in the programme.
