Physically–impaired helped with aids

SILCHAR, January 25:Barak Vision, NGO, Hasanpur, Karimganj, came forward with aid materials for the physically–impaired, both male and female, and distributed them at a simple function held at Pailapool in the Lakhipur sub–division of Cachar recently. Rajdeep Goala, MLA of the area, handed them over the aid materials which included hearing machines, sticks, wheelchairs among others. These materials have been provided by the Government of Assam as a part of its welfare activities for the weaker sections of society and particularly those physically challenged in life.

G M Choudhury, in–charge Barak Vision, said that in order to assist the handicapped persons further, another function would be held at Pailapool and those who want to avail themselves of these facilities should come with their relevant medical certificates. Hareswar Dhobi, chairman SC cell, Lakhipur, and Congress workers R K Sahal Singha, Binodini Devi, Prab Acharjee, Khirod Karmakar, Papri Das and M R Khan expressed their gratefulness to the NGO and the Government of Assam for their help and assistance and giving a ray of hope to the physically disabled persons. The handicapped persons expressed their thankfulness to the NGO in securing the aid materials from the State Government for their benefit and also hoped in future too they would have the kind and sympathetic attention whenever they were in distress.
