Piggery distributed to SHGs of former rebels

DIPHU, July 28: Keeping an aim to generate self-reliance, sustaible steps have been taken up by the Department of the Animal Husbandry and Veteriry, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) here on Thursday at the veteriry office, Diphu. Piggeries were distributed at a function among beneficiaries from various self-help groups of former cadres of UPDS, KLNLF, KPLT, KSA, and KYF. Around 30 units of piglets were distributed to each of the six SHGs. While attending in the piggery distribution function, EM for Animal Husbandry and Veteriry, Pradip Diphusa said that this was an initiative taken by the department to help former cadres of various extremist groups and other local youths to start a new life. He further said, “Veteriry department gets limited fund every year but we are implementing smoothly all the government designed schemes.”
