Pimpi Tachang new 'Miss Aruchal Winter Pageant 2016'

Itagar, March 29: The curtain to the maiden Miss Aruchal Winter Pageant 2016, organized by the Aruchal Students Federation (ASF) in collaboration with Mega Miss North East Guwahati, filly drawn on Sunday at Siddhartha hall here with Aruchalee damsel Pimpi Tachang crowned as the winner of the coveted title.

The winter pageant which kicked off on March 16 last witnessed a total of 15 (after auditions) models of the state vying for the title in order to get a direct entry into Mega Miss North East to be held at Guwahati shortly.

Gracing the grand file as chief guest of the, RWD Minister Kumar Waii while wishing the participants success, advised them to take up studies hand in hand along with their passion and opined that one needs to have strong character in order to be successful in the modelling field. Appreciating ASF for providing the budding models a platform to showcase their talent, the minister stated that the youths of the state indeed have a huge amount of talent in them and all that is required is a proper platform where they can show it.

Parliamentary Secretary for Home Paknga Bage who was the guest of honour on the occasion while pointing out the potentials of Aruchalee youth in the fashion and glamour world said that they have enough talent which makes them eligible enough to try their hands in Bollywood and the fashion industry.

“Earlier most of the parents used to advise their children only to focus on studies but the scerio is different now. Today even the parents want their kids to be exposed so they can explore their talents and allows them to follow their passion which is commendable,” said Bage.

Earlier, ASF President Kipa Kam highlighting the purpose of organizing the beauty pageant contest appealed the state government to support such initiatives so that the youths could a chance to show their hidden talents.

Organizing Secretary Singchang Miji and Chairperson Kipa Yanu also spoke on the occasion as the duo thanking all present for their support assured to come up with the second edition of the contest next year.

Mega Miss North East 2015, winner Jessica Marbaniang, Mr North East Babul Boro and Mega Miss North East first runners up Subi Taba were the judges for the evening.

Tachang apart from getting a direct entry in Mega Miss North East was also awarded a cool cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh while, the first runners up Som Drema Khrimey and second runners up Rosmi Riba were presented a scooty each along with certificates.
