PK Production releases gripping trailer of Rahu

Silchar, May 15: PK Production is all set to fulfill its celluloid dreams. A gripping, suspenseful and stylish trailer of the production house’s second venture Rahu was released on a grand scale at Goldighi Municipal Mall of Silchar on Sunday.   It is a story a mental boy.

Rahu has been jointly directed by Prab Seal and Kod Bhattacharjee and is scheduled to be released by this year. Cast and crew of PK Production are hopeful of a dream run at the box office. PK Production’s first short film, Rupkotha was a 45-minute racy film which kept audiences on the edge of their seats.

 Overwhelmed and inspired by the brilliant success of Rupkotha, the production house decided to make a full length commercial movie. The trailer of their latest offering Rahu starring Kod Bhattacharjee, Priya Majumdar, master Pranjal Chakraborty among many other known artistes from the world of theatre of this valley was formally released by Dhankumari Sutradhar, wife of late Birendra Sutradhar, one of the 11 language martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of the protection of mother tongue on May 19, 1961. She also rendered an emotiol song.  The film has been shot at various locations of Barak Valley. The technical team comprises music composer JD Joy, graphic designer Anirban Bhattacharjee, cinematographer Debkamal Dutta, assistant camera person Raj Kar, art director Man Roy and action director Pallab Chakraborty. In addition to this, new logo of the production house designed by Prashanta Seal, head of creative production, ArtDeal Auction House, New Delhi, was also formally launched. The racy trailer was promising and had all the elements of a commercial movie.  A promotiol dance item was performed by Krishkoli Pompa and her team. The dance, Bole Bom Bom, was choreographed by Pompa, a known dance artiste of this valley.  “Filmmaking was my dream. I have always dreamt of creating ripples in the celluloid world. My meeting with Prab Seal and Man Roy was a turning point of life. It was then when we found out a bunch of film enthusiasts ready to plunge into filmmaking in this valley. Our team which comprise some passiote fresh bloods, decided to make movies. We assure that PK Productions will always stand by those who wish to make movies. Money is not a matter for us. We want to excel as a team,” said lead actor Kod Bhattacharjee. Three songs of Rahu was also released and performed live before the large gathering who have assembled to peep into the word of cinema.

 Giving a humanistic touch to the event, Kod Bhattacharjee said, “A portion of the first day’s collection of the movie will be offered as a mark of respect to Dhankumari Sutradhar.” Shantanu Sengupta, who is also essaying a prime role of a police officer in the movie said, “The much-acclaimed Rupkotha was released on May 17, 2014 at the district library auditorium. The film was made at a budget of Rs.4500 only. We never thought it would be possible to do so. Since then, there has been no looking back for PK Production. They have made videos based on social issues and presented two videos, ‘My City, My Responsibility’ and ‘Use of Helmet’ to the district administration of Cachar.”

 “The aim of the production house is to create ripples in the cultural world and make more movies in the future. PK Production is grateful to the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, the Superintendent of Police, both present and former, departments of railway and inland waterways for their constant support and compliance,” Shantanu Sengupta added to say.
