Plan for rebuilding ancient Siddheswar Temple

Hailakandi, October 13:  Following deterioration in condition of structure of Panchgram’s Siddheswar Temple - one of the ancient temples in Barak Valley - Deputy Commissioner Moloy Bora held an emergent meeting to discuss ways of restoring the temple to its pristine glory, stated a press release.

Bora, who is also the president of the magement committee, discussed threadbare the present state of affairs of the temple vis-a-vis cracks appearing in the walls and water seepage and came up with a comprehensive plan to rebuild the structure through renovation in a big way. The DC praised the members of the magement committee for the manner in which Durga Puja was celebrated in a disciplined and smooth manner notwithstanding the huge turnout of devotees. The meeting was attended, among others, by secretary of the magement committee, Shabinoi Pal.

Earlier, paying obeisance to the presiding deity, Bora prayed for peace and overall development of Barak Valley in particular and the State as a whole.
