AALO: In an emergency meeting held under the chairmanship of in-charge Deputy Commissioner C Chukhu, all contingency plans have been drawn to tackle any eventuality in the low lying areas of West Siang and extend necessary support to neighboring districts in case of major disaster caused due to the flood.

The meeting held at Conference Hall of DC office was participated by Army, ITBP, Police, Bazar Committee, Public leaders and officers of the district.

The DC appealed all to keep in readiness to tackle any kind of situation arising out of threat likely due to landslide at Yarlung at Tsangpo River in Tibet.

He has asked the committee to identify all low lying areas which may be affected by backwater of Yomgo River in case of a blockage in the line of such incident in 2000. Utmost care should be taken to control rumors that may do the round to create panic among the innocent people.

The DDMO Dorjee Nima and Circle officer Lijum Ete briefed elaborately on a landslide, rise in water level, likely damages on the abrupt release of water and effects of Yomgo River in 2000. The representatives from the Indian Army, ITBP, Police, Public and Bazar Committee also took part in the deliberations.
