Plantation drive launched

Guwahati, August 20: Max Cement celebrated the birth anniversary of the Founder Late GN Agarwal with a mega plantation drive in its plant premises located at Nongsning village in East Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya on August 13. The day-long programme started with lightening of the lamp at GN Agarwal Memorial Club and the addressing of the vision of the Founder to the company employees and workers by the seniors. The company also distributed school bags amongst the students of the employee wards. A Mega Plantation Drive was successfully completed in its motive to protect the environment by planting tive trees considering the rich bio-diversity of the region. The plantation program was carried out under the guidance of Dr.Shantanu Kumar Dutta, Senior Environmental Engineer of Central Pollution Control Board and as many as 12000 saplings of 52 tive species of trees was successfully planted.  Vineet Agarwal, Vice-Chairman & Maging Director, Max Cement said, “Inspired by our founder who was a great visiory, we have charted new courses and taken on new challenges, while keeping the best interest of all our all stakeholders at heart which include employees, business associates, consumers and local community.”

Nearly 200 people from the factory and the locality participated in the drive.
