Plantation drive launched

KOKRAJHAR, July 29: As a part of a massive plantation drive being launched by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), the Tezpur Frontier, SSB also organized a mass plantation drive in association with the Sandiksha (SSB Wives’ Welfare Association) on Friday. The Assistant Publicity Officer of the Frontier Head Quarter, SSB, Tezpur V. Chinmuanthang said more than 100 saplings were planted at Nursing Training School campus near Civil Hospital and Ganesh Ghat, Tezpur. Aruti Baruah, Principal of Nursing School and nursing students, members of Sandiksha, SSB officers and personnel took part in the programme.  LK Gohain, DIG said that aforestation should be more encouraged and it is the duty of every citizen to plant more trees to reduce the global warming.  A plantation drive was also launched at sector headquarters, Tezpur and Bomdila training centre, Salonibari, five battalions and two area offices under SSB Frontier Headquarters, Tezpur.
