Platinum jubilee of Charing Radha Kanta Phukan High School kicks off

GAURISAGAR, March 18 :  The platinum jubilee of Radha Kanta Phukan (RKP)  High School, one of the premier higher educatiol  institute in greater  Charing  area of Sivasagar district, established in 1935 on the bank of historic Bharalipukhuri, kicked off today with a three-day programme.

The programme started with the hoisting of flag by Dr Bhola Gogoi, president of reception committee. As many as 80 nos of symbolic  flags were hoisted  by various distinguished persolities on the eve of 80 years of school establishment.

Later educationist Devajit Phukan  lighted the lamp. The family members paid homage to Radha Kanta Phukan.

Educationist Mahesh Chaliha iugurated Baloram Baruwati memorial permanent  building followed by smriti tarpan by Bishnu Borkakoty, former Headmaster of the school.

The Krish-Kamala memorial gate shed  (batchara) was iugurated  by  Pratap Kakoty, former Headmaster, SDP, Girls High School, Charing.

Makhan Gogoi iugurated newly constructed boundary wall. The plantation of saplings programme was performed by Dr. Durga Prasad Khanikar, former Professor, Assam Agriculture University (AAU), Jorhat.

Noted educationist , orator, Tuwaram Khanikar released  the door of  Kamal Chandra Chutia memorial book fair. Later  Baloram Baruwati memorial science exhibition iugurated by Dr Hemanta Phukan, former Principal of Sibsagar Girls’ College.

Later  educationist Niranjan th iugurated Radha Kanta Phukan memorial place and Golok Phukan  memorial mancha.

In the afternoon noted poet  ,educationist hendra  Padun unveiled the souvenir published on this occasion edited by Chiradeep Konwer.

In his speech he said that the environment has rapidly changed and we are uble survive our ancient environment. He urged upon the guardians to keep their children’s mindset with the change of time.

The meeting was chaired  by Dr Mukul  Hazarika, President, Souvenir Publication Sub Committee and ex alumni. In the meeting  two books were also released.

The other two books mely Dinlipir Kothare , some selected persol observation written by Chandra Kamal Hazarika, former Principal, SMD College, Charing and Golapor Pahi Sore, a novel and collection of some short stories composed by Nirmala Duarah, former Headmistress of SDP Girls High School were released by Dr Bhola Gogoi.
