Play staged in Morigaon

MORIGAON, Feb 20: The Inheritors of the Earth based on Vaikkom Mahammad Basheer’s short story Bhoomiyude Avakashikal, playwright, adaptation and direction by Abheesh Sasihidharan, was staged by a theatre group called Theatre Hut and supported by the tiol School of Drama, New Delhi, on Sunday at tuwagaon tyamondir in Morigaon district.

The members of Asom tya Sanmilan, Morigaon unit, in cooperation with Anil Bora, Smriti Yubak Sangha, tuwagaon, Morigaon organized the show. Earlier, the show began with an iugural speech by Durgeshwar th, retired teacher, which was conducted by Bhupen th. Puram th, retired teacher and Someshwar th, retired teacher, spoke at the iugural session of the show.

On the other hand, Hyderabad Central University has projected the theatre group to perform the play in five places in the north-eastern region like Sikkim, Morigaon, Aruchal Pradesh, Tinsukia and Dibrugarh. The team of artistes comprises Jijo.K.Mathew from Kerela, Abhiy Shukla, Uttar Pradesh, Varun Madhab, Kerela, Luxsi Songsienchai, Thailand, and Dipjyoti Gogoi from Assam.
