PMO seeks clarification from Meghalaya government

SHILLONG, Feb 5: The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has sought clarification from the state government based on the complaint sent by the Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) alleging anomalies in the result of trainee teachers undergoing Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) batch 2013, released by tiol Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

Speaking to The Sentinel on Sunday, Aristotle Rymbai, president MSSASA informed that the clarification sought from the education department of the state by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) was only after the association had sent a Letter of Campaign right from January 30, 2017.

The Campaign is part of the second phase of protest against NIOS by the MSSASA after the conclusion of their first phase protest in which the trainee teachers had staged a two day sit in demonstration on January 24 and 25, outside the NIOS office Shillong Centre located at Laitumkhrah.

He informed that the Chief Ministers Office has informed the association that the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma will soon be calling them for talks on the matter. “We will apprise the Chief Minister on the grievances of teachers undergoing the D.El.Ed training including the problems of 4th Teachers in the state,” he said.
