SHILLONG,May 26: The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress on Tuesday burnt the effigy of Prime Minister rendra Modi as a mark of protest against “the increasing rate of crime against women under his leadership”. The protesting activists displayed placards outside the Congress Bhawan some of which read “Don’t harass women, they are our lovely mothers, sisters and daughters”, “The day a woman can walk freely on the road at night that day we can say that India has achieve Independence.”
