PM's visit: DC satisfied with preparations

GUWAHATI, May 23: In pursuance of the ensuing Prime Minister’s visit to Guwahati a review meeting was held today at Circuit House here under the chairmanship of Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner M Angamuthu. The DC took stock on all the preparations for the PM’s visit. He reviewed all constructions like the pandal, installation of temporary toilets, water supply provisions, barricading, entry and exit routs, sitting arrangements for public and media persons at both the venues – Khapara and Sarusojai – in the city, a press release said. The DC expressed his satisfaction regarding the construction and the arrangements made by various departments. He asked the departments to complete the remaining works by tomorrow. He entrusted three ADCs the duty to check lighting work made by the GMC and the PWD along the stretch from Airport to Khapara, Khapara to Circuit House and Circuit House to Jalukbari. He also asked PWD (NH) to fill up all the path holes on the tiol Highway, refurbishing and restoration work on the road, cleaning of median and service road and proper white wash. He ordered the DFO to prune and trim trees in the median of the road, the release added.  The DC asked PHE Department for supply of proper drinking water and to install good quality toilets for public, the GMC to illumite the important places of the city and to maintain cleanliness throughout the city, especially Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Khetra. He ordered the GMC to remove all dilapidated and torn hoardings from the city road. The DC also reviewed the traffic magement plan taken by the City Police.
