'PMSMA a unique and effective way to reach out to poor masses'

Rangia June 9: Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) was formally launched on Thursday by Vinod Seshan, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup, in Tula Ram Baf Kamrup  District   Civil  Hospital. The PMSMA has been simultaneously launched in all the 77 health institutions of Kamrup.  

In his speech, Deputy Commissioner Seshan said that  PMSMA service on the 9th of every month was a unique and effective way to reach out to the poor masses.  Every month a strong bond would be created amongst the beneficiaries and the service delivery people right from Medical Officer to ASHA. He added that  prompt service should be provided to  all patients,  especially when it comes to  pregnt woman and children. The DC also mentioned that strict punitive action would be taken on those who do not maintain punctuality and sincerity in government health institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Nodal Officer for PMSMA, Dr Jayanta Baruah spoke elaborately how PMSMA service every month would be able to find out the high risk pregnt woman and in this way prompt service would be available to the pregnt woman. He added that counselling under PMSMA would eble a pregnt woman to prepare herself for safe delivery in health Institutions   and take care of her newborn more efficiently,
