PMUY launched in Sivasagar

Joysagar, June 30:  Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yoja was formally launched in Sivasagar district by The Jorhat Lok Sabha Constituency MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa on Thursday. In this occasion an iugural function was held in the Sivasagar Yubadol auditorium which was chaired by the Sivasagar DC rayan Konwar. 
Speaking as the chief guest, MP K.P. Tasa said that by this Central Govt. programme the poor families who are living  below poverty line will be benefited and hence they could be able to cook their food with the LPG cylinder and gas stove. 
Earlier the Additiol Commissioner of Food and Civil Supply Department, Sivasagar district Phatik Sonowal elaborated about the aims and objectives of the meeting. Sivasagar Development Commissioner Abhijit Baruah, DIPRO, Sivasagar Sarodi Gogoi, Executive Magistrate Priyanku Sarmah, Sivasagar Municipal Board Chairperson Mridusmita Singha and many other Govt. officers were also present on the occasion and they also spoke about the various benefits of the PMUY programme. In the day of launching this PMUY scheme, a total of 62 women from different parts of Sivasagar were able to get the free Govt.  LPG connection and this process of giving free connections will go further, said an officer of SDCS Department.
