Poacher held with arms

TEZPUR, Jan 3: In a joint operation conducted by Dhekaijuli Police and 20 Assam Rifle, a poacher was apprehended on Tuesday morning from Phatasimolu village near Orang tiol Park under Dhekaijuli Police station in Sonitpur district.

The poacher was later identified as Rafiqul Islam who was involved in many rhino poaching and arms smuggling cases. From his possession, one AK-56 rifle along with 22 rounds live cartridges was recovered.
