Podumoni bomb blast suspect arrested

TINSUKIA, June 12: Based on specific input, a joint team of Tinsukia police led by Lamhao Doungel ASP (Hq) and officer-in-charge Bordumsa, Tusen Chutia, along with an army team of 15 Kumaon Regiment and 68 Bn of CRPF, conducted an operation at Wathoi Kailashpur and apprehended a ULFA linkman Jitu Dohotia (34), allegedly responsible for the Podumoni bomb blast, from the vicinity of Koriajan reserve forest on Saturday evening. Jitu Dohotia, son of Lt Akhyasar Dohotia of village no 1 Horumechai under Kakopathar PS, confessed to having been involved in the bomb blast in front of the residence of Vivek Agarwal, owner of Podumoni TE on the night of April 28. He was arrested in connection with Tinsukia PS case no 456/16.
