Poet Haribhakta Katuwal remembered

UDALGURI, July 2: Nepali poet Haribhakta Katuwal was commemorated on his 84th birth anniversary at a function held at the Golmagaon High School premises. The programme began with lighting of lamp by Kalpana Chhetry, the daughter of the poet. Litterateur Tarapati Upadhyaya garlanded the replica of Haribhakta Katuwal. A poem recitation programme was also held where more than 25 poets recited the poems of Haribhakta Katuwal. The open session was presided over by Gayatri Bhattarai, the president of Udalguri district committee of Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha while Puspadhar Sarma, senior litterateur and also the principal of Udalguri HS School, inaugurated the session.
He outlined the contribution of poet Haribhakta Katuwal. Nabin Malla Boro, Sahitya Akademi award-winning writer, spoke on the importance on popularizing the literary creations of the people.
