Poetry compilation Nedekha Ek Jivan released

DIBRUGARH,   June 2: Dr Gayatri Gogoi’s poetry compilation  Nedekha Ek Jivan , published by Asom Publishing company, Guwahati  was formally released at a function held at Oil Lecture Hall of Assam Medical College and Hospital recently.

The function organized by the AMCH Xahitya Chora was started with a Bishnu Rabha song, presented by Lee Hujuri. The Vice-chancellor of the Dibrugarh University, Dr Alak Kumar Buragohain iugurated the function by lighting the traditiol lamp and in his speech hoped that Dr Gogoi’s book would get the appreciation of poetry lovers. Saying that the attachment between doctor and poetry is old, he said Dr Gogoi’s second poetry compilation, Nedekha Ek Jivan was a reflection of her poetic acumen.

Professor of English Department, Dibrugarh University and noted literary critic, Dr Anda Bormudoi  formally released  the book. In his speech, Dr Bormudoi  dwelt at length on various facets  of poetry and pointed out recent style and technique of modern poetry. During his speech, Dr Bormudoi referred  Dr Gogoi’s poem as emotive and blend with a query of life. Renowned poet and literary persolity, Dr. Karabi Deka Hazarika attending the function as an appointed speaker, recited a poem from Dr Gogoi’s Nedekha Ek Jivan and gave a thought provoking speech on love related Assamese poetry.

Former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) Dr gen Saikia who graced the occasion, also delivered a poignt speech  on  ‘Poetry in my view point’ and stated “all individual are basically a poet’. Expressing his feeling on Assamese  poetry, the Deputy Commissioner, MS Monivann , in his speech, congratulated  Dr Gayatri Gogoi for publication of her poems translated  in English  at the Xahitya Academy’s English magazine Indian Literature. 

The members of Xahitya Chora, Merin Gohain, Radhika Sarmah ,Mrigakshi Sarma,Amika Chaliha, Arundhati Das recited the poems of Dr Gogoi while Dr Pranoy Phukan, Dr Sourov Goswami, Dr Indusmita Bora, Dr Dipak Kumar Sarma, Dr Srimanta Madhab Baruah and Kaushik Bachya recited their self- composed poems. Earlier, the president of Xahitya Chora, Dr Ranjit Baruah welcomed the guests, dignitaries and others while Dr Anju Baroi Teli offered vote of thanks. Dr Srimanta Madhab Baruah anchored the entire programme.
