Poetry session by British poet at IITG

GUWAHATI, Sept 25: The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG), in collaboration with British Council, is organizing a presentation session of poems by a United Kingdom performance poet, Aisling Fahey. The programme will be held at the Bhupen Hazarika Auditoirum at IITG on September 26. IITG Humanities and Social Sciences Head professor Arupjyoti Saikia said: "We are delighted to host Fahey, the Young Poet Laureate for London. This event will surely interest among our students as well as the literati of Guwahati. We look forward to it excitedly. Fahey has performed in various locations across England, America and Ireland, including the Barbican, the Houses of Parliament and Glastonbury. She won the London Teege Senior Slam and SL Ambassadors UK, run in association with The Poetry Society. She is a member of the Burn after Reading collective and Barbican Young Poets, and is currently the Young Poet Laureate for London."
