Police apprehends one with AK 47

Silchar, November 10:  Acting on a tipoff from the intelligence wing of BSF, a joint team comprising of BSF and police personnel of District Special Branch (DSB), in a special operation bbed one person in Dinthar near New Secretariat area of Aizawl on November 6. The security forces recovered one folded butt AK-47 assault rifle with one Magazine from the apprehended person. The accused has been identified as Lalmentluanga, son of Siamlia, a resident of Dinthar Veng, Aizawl.

BSF spokesperson, Satish Budakoti, Deputy Inspector General, Frontier Headquarter BSF Mizoram and Cachar, informed that the seized weapon was brought from Myanmar and was likely to be sold to interested customers in Aizawl. The apprehended person along with the seized AK-47 assault rifle has been handed over to the police for further interrogation and provisions as per the law.
