Police b DRDA JE, fake beneficiaries for anomalies in IAY scheme

GAON (HAIBORGAON), April 11:  gaon Police on Monday night apprehended a DRDA JE for alleged involvement in misappropriation and anomalous in IAY scheme under Pakhimoria Development Block in gaon. The police also bbed another two fake beneficiaries of the scheme.

According to sources, the bbed DRDA JE has been identified as Haren Bora and the two fake beneficiaries have been identified as Bharat Das Repunjoi and Kamala Baidya. The sources added that during the tenure of the previous Congress government, in the me of the IAY scheme some JEs allegedly siphoned off government fund sanctioned under the scheme in Dakarghat Panchayat without constructing or providing IAY houses. Rather, the gang, including Panchayat president, JEs and the other fake beneficiaries, looted the large amount of fund from 2009 to 2015-16.

Interestingly, local people and some organizations complained against alleged misappropriation over the years, but the authority concerned allegedly did not respond. But when the BJP-led alliance came to power in the State, the Joint Director of the DRDA department made an enquiry against the complaint and also directed the BDO concerned, Moni Devi to lodge an FIR against three JEs- Bidya Loshan Barman, Rajarul Karim and Haren Bora, the president of Dakarghat Panchayat, Sirajul Haque and panchayat secretary Mofidul Islam. Subsequently, BDO Devi lodged an FIR against all of them in gaon Sadar Police station on December 27, 2016. The sources further added that other JEs and panchayat president and secretary were absconding till filing this report although gaon Police is looking for them.
