Police bs drug peddlers, recovers 11.22 gm cocaine

Itagar, March 29: The Lower Dibang Valley district police apprehended three alleged drug peddlers from a village at Roing, the district headquarters, on Tuesday and recovered cocaine-like substance weighing around 11.22 grams and other stuffs from them.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team led by DSP Opir Paron raided the house of one Sipi Miso located in Intaya village. 
During the raid, three persons mely, Dastan Linggi, Anut Lama and Md Samir were found to be consuming some cocaine-like substances. On seeing the police team, they tried to flee from the scene but were arrested by police, an official report stated on Thursday.
The owner of the house, Sipi Miso, who is also a drug peddler, sensing the presence of the police team maged to flee from the scene by taking advantage of the darkness.
Cocaine-like substance weighing around 11.22 grams was found and seized from their possession in the presence of a magistrate. 
Police also seized two digital weight machines used for weighing the cocaine, four gas lighters and one paper rolled Rs 20 currency note from their possession.
Further, five mobile handsets and a local dao, which are suspected to have been looted or stched from the public were also recovered from their possession.
A case under NDPS Act has been registered and an investigation has also been launched. The case is being supervised and monitored by SP Sanjay Kr Sain, the report added.
