Police caution on fake items

SHILLONG, April 26: It has come to the notice of the District Police that some unscrupulous persons through TV channels and SMS are offering sale of products which come with several free gift items. Once a person’s make a call to any of these numbers flashed, they would persistently call back to take delivery send by post which is cash on delivery. After payment is made, and the parcel delivered is opened, usually some heavy item like stones and bricks are found and not the item offered. As there have been a number of such cases, all citizens are cautioned to refrain from entertaining such offers whose intention is only to dupe them for money, police said in a statement.
