Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Marak said security arrangements are being made in such a manner that police personnel will be deployed at each and every puja pandal.

“Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure trouble-free celebrations, especially on the Vijay Dashami day, the last day of the festivities when idols are immersed,” he said. Informing that other aspects of security have already been discussed with the district administration and Central Puja Committee (CPC), Marak said, “The issue of installation of CCTV cameras in all the puja pandals and their safety in case a fire breaks out were also discussed.”

When asked on the traffic arrangements, the SP informed the reporters that the police have chalked out a detailed plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic during the puja festival across the State.

“We will also be deploying sector officers in various parts of the States, who in turn will coordite with volunteers of different puja pandals in assisting the police to regulate traffic and other security matters,” Marak explained.
