Police gears up to check drunken driving

SHILLONG, Dec 30: During the last Christmas Eve Celebration, police detected 25 (twenty five) cases of drunken driving and cases have been taken up against such offenders as per Motor Vehicle Act.
In the process, except for one minor accident, there were no accidents reported in the city. In this connection, the District Police urged all motorists to cooperate by avoiding driving under influence of alcohol. This will prevent accidents which may otherwise lead to loss of precious lives. The city Police will be conducting intensive checking and motorist are requested to bear with inconvenience.
