Police intensify checking

SHILLONG, Jan 11: The Meghalaya Police has intensified checking of vehicles plying to the border in view of the growing smuggling of cattle to Bangladesh. Police informed that recently one 909 Mini Truck bearing registration No. ML-05-J-2654 was seized at Pynursla with nine cattle. The driver identified as Wanhunlang Kharbudon (35) of Siatbakon, Pynursla however maged to flee. Meanwhile, SP (city) V. Syiem informed that the cattle seized have been handed over to the Customs department.
