Police issues lookout notice for accused

SHILLONG, Feb 20: The East Khasi Hills district police on Monday issued a “lookout notice” for an accused involved in sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.

The police issued the lookout notice against one Sudhir Kumar Paul (45). He is wanted in connection with Madanrting police station in case No. 06(01)2017 under section 3(a)/4/17 POCSO Act.

As per the lookout notice, Paul is a resident of Kumor Para Majipara Palasmi, Bizpur, North 24 Pargas, West Bengal.

In the lookout notice addressed to the Superintendent of Police, North 24 Pargas district, Barasat, the Meghalaya police while attaching a photograph of the accused urged their counterparts to issue suitable instructions to their “field formations for maintaining sharp lookout for the accused and if traced he should be arrested”.

According to police sources, Paul is one among the four persons who are yet to be arrested in the sex-racket case.

Altogether 17 persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
