Police outpost to be set up in Bijulibon: DGP

FROM A CORRESPONDENT

DOOMDOOMA, July 18: Director General of Police (DGP) Khagen Sharma  visited Bijulibon on Friday evening here to take stock of the situation there  in the aftermath of ULFA’s alleged killing of two Hindi-speaking people , ndalal  Sah (70) and his daughter Kajal (17) who was a student of Phillobari Junior College  on Tuesday evening.

He was accompanied by ADGP (Law & Order) S. N. Singh,

DIG (Eastern Range) Satyen Gogoi and the new SP, Tinsukia Mugdhajyoti Mahanta.

Except assuring to set up a Police outpost at Bijulibon as per public demand, DGP Khagen Sharma did not say anything  and he blamed the ULFA for this brutal killing by saying that Police had “concrete” proof about that.

The outfit’s chief, Paresh Baruah, however, denied involvement in the attack.

Strangely, a group of All Assam Bhojpuri Yuba-Chatra

Parishad who visited the house of late ndalal Sah at Bijulibon and also of Late Dibandhu Sharma of No. 10 Parbatpur, Phillobari along with Local MLA Dilip Moran

wondered how come the militants could dare to come to the house of ndal Sah with arms in their hands in spite of having a Army Camp nearby.

The militants  though wore T-shirts and three-quarter army pants they came bare-footed. They  spoke broken Hindi. Interestingly, although in the past they also acceded to  ULFA’s extortion note this  time there was no such extortionist demand.
