Police patrolling intensified

SHILLONG, June 14: The Meghalaya police have decided to intensify patrolling in areas where CCTV cameras are not installed yet.  Speaking to The Sentinel Superintendent of Police (City) Vivek Syiem said, “We have intensified patrolling in those areas where the solar LED street lights have been erected and especially in areas where theft of battery and controller of the solar LED street light are a common occurrence.”
It may be reminded that around 378 street lights have been erected under the green city project (GCP) for the benefit of the people of the state. while most of these street light put up at Lum Survey area became out of order after the power box containing the battery and controller was found detached from the lights and allegedly stolen by miscreants.
