Police recover Jubillee's sound system from Barghat

TEZPUR, May 13: A full pack of costly sound system worth about Rs. 15 lakh of popular Assamese singer Jubillee, that was hijacked from Kaliabar about ten days back by a gang of burglar while her team was on its way back to Guwahati after performing in upper Assam was recovered today at the wee hour from Barghat area under here. The operation was conducted by Barghat Police led by officer-in-charge (OC) D. Kakoti. It is worth mentioning that following mounting pressure from different sources including the media and civil society for dealing with several incidents of burglary, car and two wheeler theft, stching of orments from woman, rape and murder etc. the police administration here have been seen active in this regard for the last few days.  However, the police based on adequate inputs maged to intercept a TATA Magic with a few big sound boxes leading to suspicion about the people on the vehicle. While police asked the intercepted persons Hazarat Ali (22) and Babul Haque (27) about the goods they admitted that they were sent by one Kader Ali of Village Gudam Ghat under Chardwar PS. Meanwhile following their statement police rushed to Gudam Ghat area to recover the other stolen items which were kept buried in a ditch.  Other accused involved in the incident including Kader Ali, Rubul Ali and Mohidul Ali maged to escape from the spot before the arrival of police. According to the police a wide network of this gang has been active across the state and galand and Manipur.
