Police retrieves stolen GI pipes

SHILLONG, Aug 21: After the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department filed the First Information report (FIR) with the Ranikor police station, the officer in charge has directed his subordite officer of the Borsora police out post to investigate the case. Based on the FIR, the police has investigated and they have retrieved back the GI pipes and these were brought back to Ranikor police station to be kept into their custody. The police have registered the case. The FIR filed by the Junior Engineer (PHE) RWS said the pipes laid at Chimasora and Maheskhola village of the South West KHasi Hills district have been stolen by unknown miscreant on the 25th May 2016. After the inspection it was found that 22 numbers of 65 mm diameters of GI pipes are missing from the site.
