Police take strong note

SHILLONG, February 25: The Shillong City Police has taken a strong note on the unscrupulous exploits made by the tourist taxi drivers, even as they sought the co-operation of the public in catching them. It has come to the notice of Shillong Traffic Police that Tourist Taxis coming  to Shillong from Guwahati are refusing to drop passengers to Kyndailad and also   demand extra charge if the passengers insist. Based on the complaints, the Superintendent of Police (SP) East Khasi Hills MH Kharkrang on Wednesday stated that All Tourist Taxis are reminded that they should drop passengers up to Kyndailad and then park in their desigted parking lot.  Passengers are requested to inform police if they refuse to drop them at Kyndailad and also if they demand extra charge, giving  details of  said vehicle.
