Police warns mischievous revelers

SHILLONG, Dec 23: Ahead of the Christmas and New Year seasons, the East Khasi Hills district police made it clear that the force will leave no stone unturned to control mischievous and drunken driving.

Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District, MH Kharkrang told The Sentinel on Friday, “We have started our late night checking from yesterday to check drunken driving in preparation for the festive season and 11(Eleven) cases of drunken driving were detected and Non FIR Case is being taken against such erring drivers”.

“Our intention is to stop alcohol drinkers from driving so as to ensure their individual safety as well as the safety of the others,” Kharkrang stated, adding, “Breathe alyzers will be used.”

The police request the cooperation of all public in its endeavor, though it may cause some inconvenience to them.
