Police will launch massive operations against militants: Special DGP

DIBRUGARH, Sept 9: Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) Kuladhar Saikia in his tour to the Upper Assam districts of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, has disclosed that massive security operations would be initiated against the insurgent group like ULFA (I) and NDFB (S) or any other group in the state.

“The security forces have been instructed to be strict against all those forces who have been trying to create an atmosphere of terror and fear among the people,” he said. During his visit to Dibrugarh today, Saikia   interacted with the leading citizens and media persons here at Police Reserve auditorium.

Referring to the child lifting issue which has created panic among the people in some areas of Tinsukia district, Saikia said, “There is no iota of the truth about it.”

He called upon the people not to panic and assured to take stern action against all those rumor mongers whose   main intention is to create panic

Sakia urged upon the people not to sway away by such rumors.

He also directed the Superintendent of Police of both the districts to take adequate steps in tackling rampant cattle lifting and extortion.
