Polital parties submit nomitions for Binkandie GP by-election

Silchar, July 22: Two candidates have submitted nomition papers for the post of president of 67 number Goan Panchayat of Binkandie in the by-elections to be held on August 8. Satyawati Kamai, Congress and BJP’s Binda Saki Devi were the two candidates who have submitted their nomition papers on the fil day of submission of the papers, July 18. The two women submitted their respective papers to Pradip Kumar Gupta, circle officer, Lakhipur. It has been estimated, the total number of voters should be 4800. Members and workers of their respective parties accompanied both of them while submitting the nomition papers. Given the number of candidates, it can be said that the contest should be a il-biting one.

 Binda Saki Devi was accompanied by Ri Singh, District president and a senior member of BJP who has contested in MLA elections many times, Sanjay Thakur, mandal president, BJP, Lakhipur, Thoiba Singh, Jawaharlal Ghosh, Sadhu Singh and Gunjan Kaur. Hareshwar Dhubi, district Congress general secretary, Maiwati Ravidas, president, Binkandie Anchalik Panchayat, along with Monojit Das, Kanta Singha, R K Sahal Sinha and Muhibur Rahman Khan accompanied the Congress candidate, Satyawati Kamai. To ease the work of collecting the nomition papers, Pradip Kumar Gupta was assisted by Sudip Sarkar, junior engineer, Binkandie development block, Makhan Chandra Paul, general secretary, Binkandie ghat GP and sir Ahmed Mazumdar, Gram Rozgar Sevak. After scrutiny, their nomition papers have been found flawless and have been accepted. On day of the by-elections at Binkandie, other GPs, Kachudaram, Panibhora and Borjunia will be organizing the same. To ward off any unpleasant incident, ba Kumar Bora, officer in-charge along with other police personnel of Lakhipur police station was present on the spot.
