Political parties should clarify stand on greater galim: KFA

 From a Correspondent

Hamren, Oct 23: The Karbi Farmer’s Association (KFA) has urged all political parties of both the twin hill districts of Assam, Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao, and the BJP-ruled KAAC to clarify their stand against the framework agreement between the Central Government and NSCN (IM) of galand.
In a press release it was stated, “We have not opposed the ongoing peace talks between the Central Government and the NSCN (IM) but before the fil agreement is made, the Government of India should also create the autonomous state for the twin hill districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao which is a long-pending demand of the hill people of the two districts. Both the hill districts were partially excluded areas since the British rule, so the area should be excluded from the greater galim too.”
“In 1935, the Government of India united Mikir Hill and NC Hill and the autonomous council was formed in 1952. Therefore, the Constitution has the provision of Article 244 (A) for autonomous state. Autonomous State should be create for identity, equality and justice to the hill people,” said KFA president Samsing Hanse and general secretary Tiku Ingti.
