The BJP candidates Sum Ronghang (Diphu), Joyram Engleng(Howraghat), Numol Momin (Bokajan) and Arun Terang (Baithalangso)  are  wooing the voters for change and development and are trying to give a tough fight to all the Congress candidates and in every meeting they are gathering large number of  people, which has become a matter of concern for the Congress candidates.

The independent candidates supported by HSDC, a regiol party, are also not far behind. The candidates Dr. Jayanto Rongpi (Diphu) , Chomang Kro (Howraghat), Jagat Sing Engti (Bokajan) and Holiram Terang (Baithalangso) are  asking the voters to vote for them in the me of separate State which is the long cherished desire of the people of the hill district.

All the independent candidates had their mass support when the ASDC was in power at KAAC and re- union of HSDC and CPI (ML) has given these parties a new lease of life and the people are encouraged with their unification. As a result there is a likelihood of triangular contest in all the four constituencies.
