Polling officials in KA complain against alleged poor quality of food

HOWRAGHAT, March 11: The polling officials who are engaged for the ensuing assembly election expressed their resentment over the alleged poor quality and insufficient food supplied by the contactor on Friday. According to sources, consecutive training for polling officials is being held by the district administration for the No 18 Howraghat and No 19 Diphu legislative assembly constituencies at Rukasen College, Bakalia since Thursday.  There was resentment among the polling officials during lunch time due to alleged insufficient supply of food and poor quality of food. Later, the polling officials decided to lodge a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer against the contractor. The Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer, Mukul Gogoi had asked strictly all asked all contractors that were given works orders to provide adequate and necessary prompt services for the interest of smooth functioning of the ensuing assembly elections in Karbi Anglong. But despite his strict order, a section of contractors is violating the guidelines.
