Poor BSNL network stalls transaction in post offices

GORESWAR, Feb 10: The Postal Department has already launched the Postal Bank Service in post offices of the country for opening accounts. The account transaction can also be done in the respective post offices through Paytm. Poor families of the rural areas of Assam have availed the chance to open accounts in post offices. The Paytm app depends on internet connectivity but sans BSNL network, the postmasters of the post offices fail to transact money during post office hours.
According to sources, Gabinda Boro, branch postmaster of Bardangerikochi branch post office located at Gashbari Chowk under Patidarrang mouza has to stop money transaction through Paytm due to network problem since January, resulting in less number of account holders from Bardangerikochi, Pubparlokra, Garka, Garugaon, Lokrbargar and Jatiyabhangara villages falling under the branch post office Bardangerikochi. The Goreswar sub-post office in Baksa district too has been facing problems till date due to network problem, alleged the postmaster of the branch post office Bardangerikochi.
Account holders of Mahajanpara branch post office, Silkijhar BPO and Gurmouw BPO have also been suffering due to poor BSNL network. The authority concerned has been urged to take urgent steps to solve the network problem.
