Poor marking system in HSLC, HS examition criticized

KOKRAJHAR, July 6: Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar MP Sharma, while attending the felicitation ceremony for HSLC toppers organized by Kokrajhar district committee of the AASU at Kokrajhar Science College as the chief guest on Monday, called upon the guardians to choice faculty based on the aptitude of their children after passing the HSLC examition.

Sharma said having education had no end and students had to go a long way selecting their right path for life. He said choosing a subject for higher education was very important and this should be on the basis of aptitude of the students. He said students could mess up their aim of life if the choice of faculty is not as per their interest. He called upon the guardians not to force the students to take subjects without looking at their aptitude. He also said success in life or good result depended on their aptitude.

The president of AASU, Dipankar th said the vercular medium schools of the State lacked adequate teachers, besides quality teachers. He said both the AASU and the ABSU had been raising strong voice against the pathetic attitude of the government towards the education sector in Assam but the problems of the vercular medium were yet to be addressed. He also said both the student bodies had been demanding separate TET provision for the vercular medium schools in the State.

th said the poor marking system in the State had been depriving thousands of students of the State from getting admission in good educatiol institutions in big cities due to poor marks. He said the SEBA and AHSEC should rectify the policy of marking system so that the students from vercular medium could get admission in the good educatiol institutions.

The AASU president blamed the leaders and state machineries for being indifferent in reforming the educatiol policy. He reiterated that the leaders never encouraged their children to take admission in vercular medium schools and instead opted for reputed private English medium schools due to which they were not interested in the development of vercular medium educatiol institutions. He thanked the Kokrajhar district AASU for organizing such a felicitation programme and called upon the students to concentrate on their studies.  He also lauded the students who have cleared the UPSC examition from Assam.

Speaker of ABSU, Jayanta Basumatary said every student must have big aim to succeed in life. He said the proverb ‘Slow and steady wins the race’ had no significance in the present age liberalization, globalization and privatization and now it was ‘speedy and steady wins the race’.

Vice principal of Kokrajhar Science College, Sarmistha Chokrabarty said the HSLC and HS examition were the gateway of life and so the students should go ahead with their aim and they should never despair.

The felicitation programme was also attended by organizing secretary of AASU, Milon Ray, literary secretary Anjan Kalita and treasurer Uday Basumatary. Presided over by the president of Kokrajhar district AASU, Subhod Ray, the objectives of the programme was elaborated by the secretary of Kokrajhar district AASU bajyoti Ray.

The Kokrajhar district AASU felicitated 46 students of Kokrajhar district who got distinction in the 2015 HSLC examition conducted by SEBA. The students were felicitated by phulam gamosa and given citation with books.
