Poor plight of Haflong Range Office

Poor plight of Haflong Range Office

A Correspondent

Haflong, July 4: There was an office located in the heart of Haflong town with at least 15 staff. The office remains defunct for days together. This is not the allegation of the public only but also of a muster roll employee of the office who did not get his salary for the last 18 months and 28 years of his service is also yet to be regularized.

Dibeswar Kachari, a muster roll employee of the Haflong Range Office of the Soil Conservation Department, is the only employee who has been attending office regularly but without payment of his salary for the last 18 months. Talking to this correspondent, his wife also regretted the non-payment of salary of her husband, following which they had stopped sending their children to school and college. It is indeed sad that a person, after attending office regularly, gets no salary whereas 15 other staff are getting their salaries without attending office for days.
