Poor plight of Rangapur Junior Basic LP School

Haflong, Jan 19: Rangapur Junior Basic Lower Primary school established in the year 1918 thus being the second oldest educatiol institution in the district of Dima Hasao after LP School at Gunjung is in a deplorable condition. People of Rangpur village in Harangajao constituency of NC Hills Autonomous Council have expressed concern. The school produced a good number of persolities who are now established in the society with dignity and popularity for their untiring contribution towards the society.

Talking to this correspondent the present Head Teacher Pradip Dey said, “It is really a matter of grave concern of the people that the educatiol institution like Rangapur J B L P being the oldest one is yet to get proper attention from the authority concerned.”

Sukumar Bathari, an ex student of this school said, “Within this hundred year, the school got a building and a kitchen perhaps from SSA but there is no security fencing.” Dr Mahanta Langthasa, belonging to Rangapur village sharing his memories vividly explained the importance of Rangapur Junior Basic Lower Primary school.  Dr Langthasa was here to attend the Centery Celebration  of the village on Thursday and Friday.

People of Rangapur village in particular and of Dima Hasao district in general appealed to the people as well as the concerned authorities to take initiative for making this school a model school of  Dima Hasao.
