Poor road condition posing problem

From Our Correspondent

Silchar, March 14: The road from Phulertool’s Vivekanda statue point located near Loketh Temple to Lakhipur Barak Bridge, around 800 metres in length, is in very bad shape. Commuters and vehicles users are finding it difficult to move across the road. A number of accidents have occurred on this road. There are a large number of potholes on it. Similarly, the condition of the road starting from Phulertool market point, which is a very important spot, via Lakhipur development block which is 2 km in length, to Hmarkhawlien  is also in a pathetic state. Both these are PWD roads which demands immediate attention of the authorities concerned.

Boys and girls residing in Hmarkhalien have tried it in vain to draw the attention of the authorities and departments concerned. PWD officials have also visited the spot for proper inspection. Yet, no concrete steps have been taken so far. Repair work of both the roads is yet to begin. There are schools adjacent to the spot. Students of Union High School, PMS School and Shivanda LP School find it difficult to use the road, especially during the rainy season. Come rainy season stagnt water will pose as another big problem.
