Poor service at UCO Bank irks consumers

BOKO, May 8: UCO Bank, Bamunigaon Bazar branch is the only bank in the area which covers even the Meghalaya border area. Villages like Larubara, Santipur and Nongoldonga are dependent on this bank for their financial transactions. But since the last 2-3 months, bank consumers are facing problems as transactions cannot be done due to various reasons like link failure and poor server connection. Consumers even alleged that if they complain about the poor services, the bank staff misbehaves with them. Bamunigaon market is the main organic agriculture market in South Kamrup district. So most of the unemployed youth who are engaged in agricultural activity, depend on this bank for business transactions. They are now facing a lot of inconvenience due to the poor banking services. The assistant manager of the bank on Tuesday agreed with the consumers.
