Dibrugarh, March 7: The District Development Committee meeting for the current month, presided over by DC, Laya Madduri, was held at the DC office on Tuesday. In the meeting, Madduri took stock of all the government schemes being implemented by the various government departments in the district. She urged the Dibrugarh Municipal Board (DMB) to work actively towards popularizing the use of the ‘Swachhata App’ among the urban dwellers, and accordingly turn the town into one of the most hygienic places of the country. She also asked DMB to ascertain whether the private hospitals and nursing homes adhered to the previous order of the district administration, and accordingly made arrangements for parking facilities within their premises. In a bid to promote cleanliness, Madduri ordered the Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department to arrange separate competitions among various hotels, restaurants, private hospitals, petrol pumps and schools in keeping their respective premises clean.
