Porto beats Boavista in Portuguese league

Lisbon, Feb 24: Porto beat Boavista 2-0 in the 22nd round of the Portuguese soccer league at the Bessa stadium in Porto, north Portugal. In the match on Monday, Colombian forward Jackson Martinez opened the scoring in the 80th minute and Algerian midfielder Yacine Brahimi added another with a right-footed effort in the 87th, reported Xinhua.

Porto domited the match and wasted several scoring chances in the first half through Colombian forward Juan Quintero and Jackson Martinez. Porto stands second in the Portuguese league with 52 points after Befica while Boavista stands 13th with 21 points. IANS
