Post Office Passport Seva Kendra iugurated

Tezpur, April 9: A Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) was iugurated at Tezpur Head Post Office campus on Monday. The POPSK is the fourth of its kind in the State, with Silchar, Dibrugarh and Mangaldai. The Passport Seva Kendra office was iugurated by Tezpur MP Ram Prasad Sarma in presence of Chief Post Master General, Assam Circle, Guwahati, Vishvapavan Pati and ADC, Sonitpur, Kishan Kumar Sarma. Addressing the gathering, MP RP Sarma said that the facility would bring the service closer to people's doorsteps, benefiting people in Tezpur and its adjoining areas. He also said that the POPSK would help those who intended to go to abroad for higher studies or employment to get a passport without having to go to Guwahati.
Speaking on the occasion, CPMG, Vishvapavan Pati said that people of the area would be benefited from the service. It has the capacity of catering to 50 passport seekers on an average day. Fresh issue of passports and renewals will be carried out in the POPSK.
